COVID-19 Notice

An outbreak of respiratory infections was first seen in early December 2019 in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. On 7 January 2020, this outbreak was identified as being caused by Coronavirus (COVID-19). On 30 January, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a global health emergency, and on March 11, WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic. Therefore, any losses for trip cancellation, trip interruption and/or trip curtailment and/or trip delay caused by or due to COVID-19  may not be covered under this insurance policy in line with any one or more of the following exclusions referenced in the terms and conditions of your policy;

  • Pandemics/Epidemics
  • Events you were aware of when buying the insurance  or when your account was opened
  • Events that you were aware of when booking your trip
  • Government action and/or intervention
  • New laws or instructions specified by Customs or other authorities

 If you contract COVID-19 prior to departure, some of our insurance policies provide cover for trip cancellation, if you have a confirmed and documented diagnosis at the time of departure due to COVID-19. It is important you read your insurance policy carefully to determine whether this cover applies to you or not or alternatively, please click here to contact us at the relevant number.

If you contract COVID-19 while on a covered trip, some of our policies provide cover for medical expenses and trip interruption/curtailment benefits if you have a confirmed and documented diagnosis. Please note that you could be excluded from medical expenses cover if you travel despite an advisory against travel to your destination.
